The Specifications Of BMW Z4 Car

The latest version of the BMW Z4 has been around since 2009; unlike its predecessor the new model has a retractable hard top. Because it now comes with a retractable hard top there are no longer two variants previously referred to as the Roadster and Coupe. The electro-hydraulic retractable hardtop in lightweight aluminium shell can be folded up or down in 20 seconds by the press of a button.
The new Z4 comes with four straight six petrol engines; the entry level 23i has a 201bhp 2.5-litre engine, which is fast enough for most people and the 30i that has a 255bhp 3.0-litre engine. Meanwhile, the 35i has a twin-turbo 3.0-litre power unit with 302 bhp, and the 35is uses a 335bhp version of the same engine. The 23i, 30i and 35i come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 35is comes with a seven-speed semi-automatic, which is an option on the regular 35i.
All Z4 models come with Drive Dynamic Control, which lets the driver change the responses of the steering, throttle and stability control. The standard car gives a brilliant mixture of comfort and control, combining a slick ride with sharp, agile handling. On the M Sport versions the firmer suspension compromises the ride while not really adding anything to the handling.
The Z4 entered the market with a bang in 2009, in its first year it was voted "Scottish Drop Top of the Year 2009" and then later in 2010 is was awarded the tile of "What Car? Open top car". Steve Fowler, Group Editor of What Car?, said: "It's not cheap but I always think the Z4 looks more expensive than it actually is. I love the slick folding roof: and the BMW Z4 interior puts those of most supercars to shame. It is a worthy winner.
